Tucker Burns2008 Addition
Tucker played for the Westside Indians in 2007. He pitched and played infield. He and Hunter Hewitt are probably the fastest Cubs players and Tucker is as tough as nails. If we can learn to focus Tucker's energy level or bottle it, there is no telling what Tucker will be able to accomplish for us this year. Since Tucker is a new Cubs player, we will have to focus on basic fundamentals such as fielding with two hands, knowing where to make the play, bunting etc. If he accepts instruction well, practices at home, and implements the fundamentals we teach, Tucker could be a valuable addition to the Cubs. We are not sure where Tucker will end up in the field. This depends on Tucker. He has the athletic skills to play any position on the field. If he can grasp game situations and understand where the proper play should be made and where his proper positioning is for each play, he could land an infield spot. Typically, players like Tucker improve the most between the first practice and the Championship Tournament. If he remains patient and works hard at home between practices, he could be one of those most improved player candidates by the end of the year. Batting
